Today’s easy Halloween craft is a spooky spider necklace made with craft foam, buttons and handmade cardboard beads. Click here to download all the patterns I used in these projects.
To make them you will need
- Spider pattern or any other spooky Halloween themes you like.
- Card, craft foam or felt . I used craft foam for the spider and card for the beads.
- Stickers, buttons, ribbon and beads to decorate.
- Pen or pencil.
- Scissors.
- Glue.
- Large eyed needle.

First make your handmade beads, this is a great way to use up flyers, envelops and magazines.
To make the beads take a sheet of card or craft felt and cut into long thin triangles.
I used a guillotine to make this quicker and easier.
Taking one triangle and glue the long thin end, then glue side up and starting at the wide end wrap it tightly around a pen or pencil and roll along the length of the triangle to the glue end.

Slide the bead off the pen and repeat.
Using your chosen pattern cut out a central motif for the necklace from card, felt or foam.

Decorate your cut out with sequins and stickers.

Using a wide eye’d needle thread you necklace together with your handmade beads. I used big buttons to act as stoppers for the card beads so that they wouldn’t get lost behind the spider.
Experiment with fabric scraps to make more beads and different combinations to form necklaces and bracelets. I have to credit Kellie at Trash Art for showing me how to make these beads.
Don’t forget to order your Witch’s costume kit in time for Halloween.
