Halloween crafts ~ trick or treat goody bag

These trick or treat bags are very easy to make and can be decorated using paint, glitter, stickers and beads.  As ever, the only limit is your imagination!
Make them for your witches and wizards to keep their treats in or make up a batch, fill with sweet treats and give out to the little devils knocking on you door on 31st October.
Click here to download a free page of templates or the full book of large and small templates for all the projects I’ll be making over the next few weeks.
To make them you will need:
  • Goody bag pattern.
  • Craft foam, card or felt.
  • Ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Glue or double sided tape
  • Large eyed needle
  • Decorations, I used dress net and stickers

Draw round the pattern onto the card and cut out.

I wanted to line my bag with net so cut out a slightly larger version of the  pattern in net too.

Glue or stick double sided tape along one straight edge of the card, roll around to meet the other straight edge and press to form a cone

I repeated with the net tomake two cones.

Using a large eyed needle or hole punch make holes in opposite sides of the cone to thread the ribbon through.  I made two small holes either side.

Cut your ribbon to length, I used 80cm as I wanted a double handle.

Using the large eye needle thread the ribbon through the holes.

If using a fabric lining insert this into your cone and fold the overlap to the outside before threading the ribbon through all layers of fabric and card.

Decorate the outside of your cone.

Alternatively if you are painting or using glue and glitter, you might want to decorate the card while it is flat, before shaping it into a cone.

What a very cute “sweetie” cone… though have to say, I would be tempted to wear it as a fairy hat and “sod the fact” you need to look “scart” oin Halloween! Love it!

Thanks for linking up to Kids Get Crafty with your cute idea!!!

You’ve caught me out! If you look at the Witch tutu costume kit you’ll notice a striking resemblance.
